Guided Tour and Workshop
Looking at Stars – and Making Your Own!

In the sparkling exhibition BICYCLE & LOBSTER, we discover jewelry pieces that enchant everyone—even those who don’t usually care much for festive traditions. Here, it’s not just angels and stars that shine, but also charming miniatures of everyday life: airplanes, slide rules, handbags, spiders, and frogs.

Between handcrafted artistry and serial production, delicate glass artworks were created in the Bohemian workshops around the Gablonz region. Drawing on centuries-old glassmaking traditions, artisans produced fragile treasures made from fine glass rods, artistically curved bangles, complex hollow-glass forms, and twisted, gilded, or silvered beads.

After the dazzling exhibition visit, we’ll create our own glass star ornaments for the holiday season using original sets from Rautis, a company based in the Gablonz area. Creative minds and nimble hands can mix and match fancy glass beads with fun materials to design whatever they like!

In the glittering exhibition FAHRRAD & HUMMER, we discover jewelry pieces that enchant everyone—even those who don’t usually care much for festive traditions. Here, it’s not just angels and stars that gleam, but also delightful miniatures of everyday life: airplanes, slide rules, handbags, spiders, and frogs.

Between handcrafted artistry and serial production, fragile artworks were created in the Bohemian workshops around the Gablonz region, based on the long-standing traditions of glassmaking. These treasures include delicate glass rods, beautifully curved bangles, intricate hollow-glass forms, and twisted, gilded, or silvered glass beads.
